AEC Walls, Windows, and Doors

I have kinda a dumb question, but I'm not going to spend my whole life trying to figure it out on my own. I recal that you could manipulate the physical properties of some of the AEC objects in ADT such as doors and windows. I'm almost positive I did it once, but I can't remember how to again. Also, on the same note, is there a buried directory of styles for doors and windows somewhere in the installation, because I can't find anything other than the few that are loaded in the tools pallet. Thanks :)

Hello

1. Loading door / window styles etc.

If you go to the content Browers (CTRL+4) icon and that should take you to your Catalog library. Go into design tools and drag using the eye dropper onto your tool palette, the various different styles of walls, slabs, doors, windows etc.

2. Manipulate the physical properties of AEC objects.

I normally right click on the AEC object thats pulls out a menu on the screen, about half way down there will be - edit wall style / door style / window etc.

That should open up the information that you can modify.

Other than that just double click the AEC object and that will give you the standard propertiesdisplay and you can adjust limited properties there.

Does that make sense and answer your question?

Ok, I knew about the Content Browser, but I thought there were other styles out there (it was a while ago, I could be just stupid or something). Can you download other styles. Anyway, my right-click is set to a different command, so what else would bring up the menu to find the edit properties?

In your drop down menus. (if loaded)

Design - All AEC objects are listed there

Format - Style Manager

If you change your right click then more options are avaliable for using these AEC objects instead of trawling through all the menus.

As for more styles, I haven't come across more libraries of windows, doors etc. Since I don't know if they are out there I tend to modify what we have to suit the projects.
