Tim Saunders
I just installed viz 2007 and for some reason when I am drawing a line, and holding shift to draw straight up/down/accross, it stops drawing the line as soon as I ckick shift. It astarts the line, but then just hangs there without making the new verticies when I click (no matter where I click). Anyone know if I have a setting turned off? I couldn't find anything that effects ortho.
jafs00
I`m not sure if I understand correctly what is happening to you but maybe it's one of 2 things. I had similar problems and I found out that sometimes it's just the order in which you press shift. Try just clicking first where you want your starting point for the line (without shift pressed)and then pressing shift for it to draw ortho. another problem could be your units setup, this still gives me similar problems when drawing at very small scales. Tim Saunders
thanks Julio. That is normally my way of drawing, but for some reason ever sinse my viz upgrade, the second I press or hold shift, it stops drawing the line. I'm bumbed, if I can't figure it out I my have to start using the ortho snap toggle. Not quite as convenient.
Ricardo Eloy
Check the keyboard map. Maybe it's assigned to some feature and we don't know it.
Tim Saunders
That makes sense, but I don't see "shift" assigned to anything in the hotkey menu.
Brian Cassil
You may need to go to the customize/customize user interface/keyboard tab and check all the groups there. It's a pain but the only way I can think of to find what shift is doing. Or e-mail autodesk support.
