antonio_frias
This is a model I created over the weekend to show the client today. It was modeled in autocad and file linked to Max. This is as far as I'm going with it, I'm not going to apply textures. The client just wants to have an idea of the volume.
Koper
Cool model, how long did it take you from opening the plans for the first time till this rendered image?
antonio_frias
Around twodays to create the 2d line drawing in autocad and the weekend to create the 3d model
Koper
Impressive man! may I ask what technique you use to create the arches between the pilars next to the swiming pool? That is still one technique i strugle with, each time i do it different and don't fell comfortable doing it yet.
antonio_frias
I create a polyline in autocad (my 2d line drawing) and then extrude it.
Koper
You make it look so easy, which it is, if one can find a client with not so complicated arches. Here is one i did some time ago and it took me some time as i think i used boolean.

It will pop more. Cool for a volume study though.
Brian Smith
Very nice. I would increase the light though, or even just the brightness in Photoshop. Was this rendered with VRay?
antonio_frias
I agree with you Brian it is a bit dark. I rendered it in Vray using the material overide. I tried using the techniques I saw in Christopher Nichols DVD but I still haven't gotten the hang of the sphere size for the vray light and the distance I should place it from my model. I didn't have too much time to experiment.

NOOXY
nice modelling man..camera angle gives it a sence on grandness...but i agree about the phtoshop effect to add some more contrast as the image is dull and dark.
