aaron-cds
You can save time by using light cache for the second bounce and check the "use lc to calculate glossy rays" box in the lc controls.

manta
Does it take 2 hours to render when you re-use your Irr. maps and Lightcache maps, or when you render normally ?
yogeshwagh
Does it take 2 hours to render when you re-use your Irr. maps and Lightcache maps, or when you render normally ? hi, thanks for reply, it takes 2 hrs. on 1920 Pixels with 4 passes irradiance calculations for irradiance. after calculating irradiance it takes around 50 to 55 mins to render. i just want to reduce it to 40 mins per frame after calculation of iradiance map. it takes time because i use reflective material to almost all of my objects. now i want to change it to grey alluminum rusty material with some of glossiness. can u please help how to create the material for this. which is not going take so much time to calculate the reflection also. i am glad to get you know about my court scene on which we discussed long time before , i found the solution for grains and that animation is in the renderfarm now. thanks for helping me.... thanks yogesh please help...... manta
Glad I could help, so what was the solution ? As to your new problem, can I ask a silly question ? Why are you rendering an animation at almost 2,000 pixels wide, even HDTV isn't near that resolution ?

Tim Nelson
Why are you rendering an animation at almost 2,000 pixels wide, even HDTV isn't near that resolution ? I believe 1080p is. It's because 1080 is the vertical number and 1920 would be the horizontal. Just like for 720p you need to render 1280x720.
