STRAT Posted August 4, 2006 Share Posted August 4, 2006 first off, it's usually a good idea to camera map your backround photo in your 3d rendering app for the render stage. this helps approximate the lighting better, and also helps AA the scene with the photo plate. also helps position and set your perspectives to the photo better. mskin Posted October 24, 2006 Share Posted October 24, 2006 personally, i take note of the location when i take the photograph. use a tripod to avoid roll. make note of date, time, sun conditions, etc. when rendering, i superimpose the photo trying to mach the camera angle etc... . also, aperture id important and is usually stored in the exif info portion of the digital photograph. once i am satisfied with my camera angle, i render with a background similar to the day in the photograph to aid in the reflectivity of the glass. next i pull it into photoshop and position it correctly.
