nothingwrongtotryme
Let me explain about the prioblem i have, initially i used aversis studio setup using bend cylinder , but i wanted an alfa channel for my products so that i can use in another grapics application for placing my rendering on other background. so i did the following : i kept a plane and in vray properties of object i select matte object and rendrered the scene, but the problem is i get totally different lighting situation if i use mattee plane on the same max file of the cylinder, why so ??? i tried to adjust the lightings and all that, but not able to get the similar result as my previous render, the only change i made was removed the cylinder and kept a plane and selected the matte pro0perteies in vray object properties, also i changed the colour of my plane to light grey so that it doesnt creat proplems in my reflections but no luck, eighter the object becomes too dark in the same lighting situation of it becomes too bright. Here is the first image with typical aversis.be studio setup : http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/2278/part1yc6.jpg This image is rendered using a plane and changing the vray object prop. to mattee. http://img124.imageshack.us/img124/862/part2vr1.jpg Now my problem is with the second image, firstly as you can see the noise has increased, why so ??? i havent changed a single parameter and am not much satisfied with the quality of the second rendering , first one is perfect but as it has the object below as the base, i dont get alfa channel but in the second image i get perfect alfa channel but problem with lithing and noise. I am using vray 1.09 kindly help me out. regards Rajiv
danatgia
well firstly you SHOULD be using Vray 1.47 and if not then you may have an illegal copy and should not be posting here. Secondly your links don't work.
JamesTaylor
vray 1.09 is an earlier version of vray than 1.47 so it is not neccessarily an illegal version......... i think anything higher than 1.47 is only released to testers although that is about to change as 1.5 is being showcased / released at SIGGRAPH anyway this is getting away from sanjay question, just thought i'd try to stop him getting branded as using illegal software since its his 1st post!! Welcome Sanjay.... can you re post your example images as i've also had problems opening them cheers
DavidR
1.09 is the free version -at least he's honest!
David Knourek
yes 1.09.03 is in fact the free version. Then again you can not access the V-Ray object properties in V-Ray free And yes I know as I run a licenced V-Ray advance and V-Ray free...
