jafs00
I agree that this is probobly a possible structure, but disagree that you can build anything you conceive... Escher... You can build that, of course it would be an optical illusion that can only be viewed from a specific angle.
Cesar R
Cesar, Did what I showed you work? Just curious. hi, I tried it just now using 2 roofs and on single roof object and it doesnt seem to want to work. for some reason revit just tilts that ridge. WDA 2 piece roof is the one thing that works somewhat i I want a staright ridge. maybe its just a limitation of the software.
William Alexander
Referring to your animation. that is a way overcomplicated to construct that thing. How do you propose stick framing a roof like that? That roof in the animation was intented to represent a roof that could be vaulted on the inside, BTW. Usally the only time stick framing is a viable alternative to trusses or just building the dormer roof on top of the main common roof, wouldn't you agree or you know of some other kind of magical solution, like using "air hooks" to hold everything up Don't forget, although I could give a flying..... if I ever pick up a hammer again, cutting complex roof framing is the pinnacle of frame carpentry. The real skill and satisfaction for most 'true' carpenters lies in that. Not cobbling $#|+ together because there no time or money to do a decent job. Beyond that my general cycnicism for the trades and the designers kicks in.... WON'T go there, if you get my drift WDA
imgumbydammit
full span header of sufficient size at the nexus would do the trick if the room wasn't too wide...posts and beam as an alternate if they could be planned around for the interior space IGD
mskin
i believe if you can model it in max you can build it.... give it a shot ; )
hockley91
I think we need to remember that Cesar needs this to work in the "Revit" environment since it's all associated with the CD's he's working on. I just don't know what else there is to do hear Cesar...I'm not familiar with Revit. WDA- Didn't mean to upset you if I did. I was just trying to create an easier solution with the way I would have done it. Of course the way you modeled it would work with the original design that was presented. With the builders I've worked with on homes, they like 45 degree angles. Whenever there is a funky angle in there, they go ape***t. Costs go up yada yada yada... Hey, instead of "air hooks" did you see that new 'floating' bed some architect designed? It was on yahoo news this morning. It works with magnets...HA!
