hockley91
Can anyone tell me quick way to model some boulders or rocks for landscaping, or is there a site where I can download some? Thanks

Ernest Burden III
Someone posted this link on CGtalk, I haven't tried it yet, but it's free (and old) so give it a try: http://www.laffeycomputer.com/macrock.html
Ernest Burden III
Unless someone can point to a collection (like Dosche, for example) of good rock shapes I wonder if this might be something we could all use, a library of rock models of different types. Aaron2004
I kind of go out of my way, bu they always look good when I'm done (In my opinion). I needed Low Poly Rocks, and the noise modifier wasn't cutting it... So I went to my AEC Extended Object Primitives, placed in a tree/plant that comes with VIZ. I tell it to display the leaf mesh as a blob always in the options (I forget the actual term, but you'll see what I mean)...while the leaf mesh is in it's blob form, I covert it to an editable poly and use the leaf blob as my rock. It looks pretty good...especially for a low poly object. Aaron
3DIFX
Adam: Hey do I know you ? Sent you a pm about another post last week. Did you get it? Let me know so I can try to resend. Anyway about the rocks: I'm in the same boat you are. I've resorted to slicing up a box in acad and adding some modifiers to it in Viz. Looks ok so far. I'll let you know how it turns out. Ray
If you mean large almost boulder size--I just make them from a cube. I know they could use more work, but for this project they worked just fine.
