drvox
Hi I draw a rectangle in front of a box and used the Shape Merge / cookie cutter to have a hole in the box, but the problem is that it only cut's at one side... I want that box to have a hole when seen by both sides... Any help is welcome... Thanks, King Regards
imgumbydammit
Boolean with a long enough box to reach both sides or cut up the faces and delete the inside ..then bridge the two opposing faces if you need the interior capped IGD
IceAged
Another way to do it would be to draw a rectangle the same size as the box, then untick 'start new shape' and draw the second rectangle inside the first rectangle. Then simply extrude the spline - cleaner than using a boolean object and easy to edit if you need to modify it.
drvox
Actually Ihave a problem using splines... When I use them even extruded, I can't get anything rendering with vray...the scene becomes all black... Can't understand what's wrong with that... I also wonder if there is any tutorial which gives an overview of all the modelling modifiers...I don't know the potential of many of them... Thanks a lot for the help! jafs00
Try using the tutorials included with 3d max, most of what I know on modeling with splines came from those tutorials.
drvox
I've started doing that, I was hoping there was any smaller tutorial, but I guess that this is going to help a lot... Thanks a lot anyway!
