jhaeusle
Sachform Technology is pleased to announce the release of PANObase Vol.1 For immediate Release August, 04th, 2006, Sensbachtal, Germany – Sachform Technology (http://www.sachform.de) is pleased to announce the release 1 new HDRI-panorama product. PANObase Vol.1 is a collection of Ultra-High-Res texture maps in HDR-format (High Dynamic Range Image). With this product, Sachform Technology continues the successfull line of highquality products aimed at the professional User. The Ultra-High Resolution of these HDR Images is 8000x4000 pixels, that is the double of previous Sachform products. Techspecs:PANObase Vol.1 - 30 different sets (*.hdr + *.tif) winterly landscapes, snow-situations - resolution of 8000x4000 pixels - color, mono + blurry version of each set (->90 HDRIs) - all HDRIs are full spherical panorama images - easy-to-use database interface - HDR + LDR version enclosed Each of the 30 HDR-images is enclosed in 3 different HDR- and 2 different LDR-variations. The highres versions (8000x4000 in color and b/w) are well suited for most job-situations where a reflection-environment is needed. Using the enclosed blurred versions (200x100 in color and b/w) of the panoramas, the artist is able to lighten scenes (in most cases) with faster rendering speed/smoother sampling distribution. Using such a combination of LowRes and HighRes HDR-images the artist receives freedom of choice while keeping speed and quality concerning the output. Christopher Nichols
I always loved your HDR libraries and promote them at every lecture I give. This one looks great as well. Are they done with the Spheron? How many stops were used?
jhaeusle
@Christopher Nichols Thank you very much for the great support ! We always like to hear that there a people who understand the need of HDRI in modern CG-Work and it we are proud, when we hear, that you promote us on lectures ! To your Questions : We do not work with Spheron atm, we made some test at the beginning of our journey and it didn´t convinced us from the handling and the outcome. The SpheronCam maybe a very nice Solution, but it wasn´t satisfying for our artistic approach. It is nice to promote , because it is "the state of the Art" Technology and every agency wants to hear such buzzwords, but we developed our own system, which is faster and the output is more satisfying for our needs. The production process should not be revealed here, but some cogitations may be approved. E.g. the number of f-stops depends on the settings. There are several tech. specs. witch have to harmonize together and an automated "one overall" process would not fit these needs. We have a very accurate postline to optimize every single Image. In the next days we will offer a download sample of the PANObase Vol.1 in our Download Area, then you can review our work ! best regards, Ivo Häusle Sachform Technology
