dynaman
anyone know what i'm missing here? i've got a case where i need the exterior site model to bounce light into the interior space. but i don't want it to be visible in my interior rendering - i will re-render the site only to composite on a separate layer. in vray properties, i have made the site model a matte object with alpha contribution of -1, the reflection and refraction are set to 0. yet still, it shows up through the glass areas, and contributes to the alpha. what am i missing?? attached are two images clarifying my questions. you can see how the site isn't visible where there is no glass, but wherever you are looking through the glass it is still visible and contributes to the alpha channel. the 2nd image outlines the alpha. any help would be hugely appreciated! i'm under a tight deadline to get this out and just discovered this problem. thanks! dynaman
hey - never mind! figured something out... in the standard properties i had to uncheck "visible to reflection / refraction" i'm not sure why those settings in the vray properties didn't have any effect though...does anyone else knows about that??
