Sketchrender
The maxwell material website looks great would somebody set the same thing up for vray? I really do wish maxwell would sort out the render time issue, the materials look really good. phil
Woody
I found this website posted on CG Architect the other day, the material settings seem fairly comprehensive. http://www.aversis.be/extra_tutorials/vray_basic_material_settings_01.htm Hope it helps. JamesTaylor
good find mark........ those settings / tutorial however appear word for word and picture for picture from the ww.vizmaster.com site that Jeff is involved with.......
3D_IC
The tutorials on the vray website are good, but the Maxwell website offers shared materials. This is a bonus for Maxwell users
Parker1
I was just talking about the same thing the other day. We REALLY need a great VRay specific site, just like the maxwell one, where we can all post really good VRay shaders. They could be ranked by the users for quality etc. This would be a great addition to the Vray community at large.

erevan
I am not sure that it would be the same. As far as I understood, Maxwell materials are specific. But in Vray, there are a lot of mixed Max/Vray cooking receipts. But I may be wrong.
Ray
good find mark........ those settings / tutorial however appear word for word and picture for picture from the ww.vizmaster.com site that Jeff is involved with....... a little checky of the website to say the least!! I think the guy from aversis.be wrote the tutorials for vizmasters. His site has been up for awhile now.
Jeff Mottle
Just to clear this up before things get ugly. 90% of the tutorials on the VisMasters site were comissioned exclusively for us. The tutorials on the Aversis site were on Wouter's website first. We paid him for the rights to also use them on our site. There is no wrong doing going on. John Dollus
Yeah, that's how Maxwell's started out - just on the registerd forum. Switching to an accessible website will be very beneficial. Highend3d has had a shader library for 3d apps for years although the Max section is rather sparse. It is always great to see what types of material recipes others have cooked up. I always thought it odd how collaborative some communities are compared to others that are not.
Sketchrender
I am a regestered vray user, but that forum is a nightmare. I work for a large company and everything is regestered to the IT part of the company, ie there names. When I do a search it is a nightmare , and if you want to post i need the IT to do it.........because you need a the regestered name of the purchaser..so I hope you understand ..........why i am asking is there a link that takes you directly to this possible future material section. many thanks phil
tdarcy
Phillip, If I were you I would go out of my way to get the info off your IT department, so you can get access to the Chaos forum, what use is the login info for them. The Chaos forum and the helpfull guys there are one of the great things about V-ray. Cheers TD
Simon Moir
Philip, not sure I agree the Chaosgroup forum is a nightmare, I actually find it very useful. I'm sure if you sent an email explaining your situation they would give you your own username & password.
