mtutaj
what do people use when this is requested. The architect that I am helping out, can't belive that the building, not the city, is asking for structural calcs based on an public exit stair with one landing. Does anyone have like an excell spreadsheet or something along those lines? I'm tring to make our lives a little simpler. I don't even believe that the person who requested this, even knows how to understand it. Thanks in advance, Mike
IC
I don't think many structural engineers would be too happy at the idea there is a spreadsheet for such things. Each building is different and you have to take into account may different factors. Even if you had the ability, you have to take responsibilty for the calcs so you need to be qualified and have insurance. Any engineer would be happy to discuss and provide you with a quote. mtutaj
Here in illinois, architects can sign off on structural to a certain point, or unless the city askes for a structural engineer. We got it all figured out. our floor/beam loading spreadsheet, will work with a little tweak. Thanks, Mike
IC
Apologies-I thought you were looking for a generic 'Stair Calc' spreadsheet. My bad for not reading your thread fully.
