jvlive
Hi all. i stumbled on this browsing the galleries of archinect. http://www.mh-portfolio.com/Algorithms_Architecture/p9m.html The graphics are quite cool (click on the parametric spirals on the upper right). It is interesting to know that these are generated by some kind of formula and can be applied to a design brief, the author showed the process flow from excel to vba to maya. My question is, how exactly do they do that? Does one need to be a programmer do create these? thanks in advance.

AJLynn
I did some of this in school. Knowing Maya and/or Max scripting helps a lot (mostly because those are the apps most of the work is done in - especially Maya), though I've got C4D to do some interesting stuff using Xpresso. Most important is starting with a good idea, or a process that lets you develop a good idea.
