AJLynn
Some books on the subject: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0935502513/ref=pd_bxgy_text_b/104-5564260-2511121?ie=UTF8 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0975565435/sr=1-4/qid=1155660934/ref=sr_1_4/104-5564260-2511121?ie=UTF8&s=books Basic directory of accredited programs: http://www.naab.org/cal_cat1724/cal_cat.htm Unfortunately unvarnished information is hard to find. The experiences at different programs vary quite a lot, but the unifier is that all professional B/Arch and M.Arch program are under the oversight of the same organization (NAAB), which has a set of requirements and does regular inspections and reports to make sure programs are up to standard. So all professional Masters programs (a graduate program for somebody who has a college degree that is not an accredited professional B.Arch and who wants to become a licensed architect) have a similar core of building systems, structures, professional practice, and a certain amount of design studio, history and electives, that takes about 3-3.5 years to complete. Within the NAAB framework there's leeway for a school to focus on particular areas or particular pedagogies, so you can get the same degree from, say, MIT (my undergrad school) or Syracuse (my grad school) and end up with the same credentials but entirely different areas of expertise. I don't think there are any schools that offer visualization as a sub-specialty of an M.Arch program, but some have strong programs in design and computation (which is not the same as visualization, but focuses on computation and processes as design tools).
