Can't compare them (even if you meant ACAD 2007) 2- If you're talking about performance with 3ds max, don't really see why buy a new one. Boing Posted August 17, 2006 Share Posted August 17, 2006 I'm a beginner also at 3d work, started a year ago, but from what i gather rendering is all CPU dependant, the video card is only used for animation playback and viewport generation, it shouldn't speed up render times. Autocad really isn't a strain on video cards i run autocad 2002 on a 1998 Voodoo 3000 card with 16 Mb RAM ! 2GB RAM is enough for decent render performance.
