similar to a simple extruded object.....not a mesh

(I model in autocad....i know it's prob not best, but it's what I know....i had to form a somewhat complex shape in FormZ, but now i need to edit it in autocad.

i COULD edit it in formz, but it won't let me 'difference' it with anything)

As I recall in autocad, a solid is a solid and a mesh is a mesh, there's no conversion between either of them. Importing from any other program into autocad will always give you mesh objects. The best way to export/import from other progs are probably either .dwg or .3ds formats.

Though the last time I modelled in autocad it was probably V.14 so I could be wrong.

If you don't get any other answers here, you might want to try posting on the Autodesk forums.

hmm......ok, thanks.....

one more question: In FormZ, the object is a 'plain facetted object'. For some reason, it won't allow me to perform boolean operations (difference, specifically) on it....anyone know why??? I'm pretty sure I've done it before, but it was awhile ago, and something I was just messing around with....
