Advice on the best Vray Tutorials

I’ve been using Vray off and on for a couple months, and love it. I am however, intermediate at best. Not a complete novice, I can make some impressive renders, but have a great deal to learn, expecially about being virsitle with the engine, as well as understanding it deeply.

I was told there are no good books on such things really, and the best way to learn in from others and tutorials. The members on here that post those amazing renders on here had to learn from somewhere. My question is simply, what are the best, most effective tutorials on Vray that you guys know of, or that helped you the most. If I had to spend time on only 10 tutorials or sites, what would you fellow posters reccoment?

These were helpful to me.

And the Flipside interior room tutorial is highly regarded as well. What other sites/tutorials, do you think, would be most effective in getting better with the program

The GNOMON Workshop is KEY.

Oh, do you mean the Christopher Nichols DVDs? Or are there others I'm not aware of? I've the both Christopher Nichols exterior and interior DVDs from Gnomon Workshop; I had my work get them for me when I saw them since they looked so good. I'm allowed to get some good toys. Anyway, I haven't gone through them yet however. Are they pretty effective...lots of improvement here?

Any other good tutorials and sites that really excel? The work on this site is mind-starggering. Sometimes I turn my monitor off and bury my head in my hands after looking at it. Any advice you guys could offer on learning, tutorials, and sites to help get me to that level (somday) would be awesome.

Any other good tutorials guys? Don't give up on me now!:) The tutorials Posted already have been helpful, and I am honestly seeing improvement each week. The Vray Manual at Spot3d.com has been making a world of difference. The Interior lighting tutorial by Serge Vasiliew was also very good. I've seen his work, it's insane. Aversis is also excellent. Any other good ones I don't know about.

I'd really apprciate anything with interior light, with interior lights. For example, not just the vray light acting as a sunlight.

A swimming pool.

Good exterior scenes.

  • 3 years later...

I realize this thread was started a long time ago but I use the following tutorial and still reference back to it all the time. It really gave me the largest chunk of new v-ray knowledge out of any other resource (although it's very pricey!!):

Ok, so it won't let me post the link because I am a junior member so... it's on the VisMasters homepage, top left hand corner (picture of goldfish and a key). 10 modules, over 8 hours of video training. (You could also do a search for v-ray training on their website.
