Timbuk3
Hi everyone, This is my first posting here and its a little intimidating posting my WIP with such a high standard of work here, but hey I've got to start somewhere! I'm pretty new to Max and this is the first project I'm happy enough with to post. All the furniture is 3rd party. Still have a little work to do but some C&C would be most welcome.... robertherrick
I think its great for a first project, maybe just try increasing the intensity of your lights and have a look at your UV on the floor (map seems to be a little big). But apart from that it’s a great start.
Arnold Sher
hey roger... welcome... I think you are at the start of something that can be really good... The image is too dark but with a bot of attention to lighting i am sure it can definetelly improve... Keep at it and you'll get there... If you need any help, shout... Ernest Burden III
Welcome! Lower your eye-height. Doing that will make the march of tables less of an issue and open up the windows, which is the more important aspect of the restaurant. It will also add some drama to the ceiling. See if you can pick up the glow color in something on the tables--candles, perhaps. And find a way to add some interest to the bar area. Maybe add some glow behind it. Increase the contrast on the outside image--it's reading more 'flat' than the interior, and you want people to be drawn out in this case.

Ernest Burden III
My suggestion to lower the view did not include moving the eye any way but down. Your original angle was great, very dynamic, well framed. Now it's removed the more dramatic sweeps of ceiling and tables, and cut off the business logo. I'm only expressing an opinion, so feel free to ignore me, but for whatever its worth, you were better off with the first view over this new angle.
