archkre
Is there any way of doing a “repair installation” to 3DSMax 8 and avoid to remove in order to reinstall it? Thanks
BrianKitts
when you throw in the install cd (dvd) doesn't it pop up with options for install / repair / remove? I could have sworn I've used the repair option before for MAX....
archkre
Well, running the repair installation this appears: "The installation source for this product is not available, verify that the source exists and you can acces it". Maybe some of my kids touched the registry! Need to do a system restore point or manually uninstall 3dsmax8. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!
BrianKitts
yeah I would just uninstall it rather than using a restore point. Half the time I've ever used those I have forgotten about some plug-in, feature, or driver that I had installed and then had to go back and do it again. If it's just max thats causing the problem, remove it and reinstall and be content that you only lost 15 mins of your day instead of jacking up your registry and losing a whole day.
