STRAT
just a quickie - does Vegas recognise an alpha channel? and if it does how do i find it? i've got to fade some credits over a movie and this method would be ideal. thank you.
jbjones
In the timeline if you right click on the clip and select properties you can then select for the clip to use the alpha channel if present.
STRAT
cheers m8, yeah, i pretty quickly found it. I also rendered stills in png format which automatically came in with an invisible backround. ok, another Q - i like to render out an AO pass with my imagery these days. i can comp this over my coloured stills in photoshop just fine, but what about an animated sequence? the AO pass in photoshop requires the mode to be switched to MULTIPLY mode to work. is there a way of doing this in vegas? straight foreward in AE (which i dont own) but what about vegas? jbjones
In the track headers, on the left of the timeline, next to the level slider, you'll see a small button which is called "compositing mode". There you should be able to select a multiply or similar method of combining layers/tracks. .
