MarkC-UK
Hi all. After reading Brian Smith's book cover to cover, a couple of questions on this (most excellent) forum and some tutorials later I have produced this. I would sincerely appreciate it if you seasoned professionals would have a look and make some comments/criticisms (good or bad, I can take it!) Thanks for your time
Ky Lane
Looking good dude. Look into some global illumination.... makes a BIG diff!
MarkC-UK
Cheers Ky, It's funny, I've been watching your thread over in the general disc. I'm well jealous, your work is very good:mad: Global Illumination?? Is that not Radiosity?? My scene was done with Radiosity and scanline.
Frosty
GI and Rad are not the same...similar in result but not the same. I think you just need a lot more light in your scene...and fix the light leaks .
Ky Lane
With scanline, bung in a skylight, then go to render>advanced lighting>light tracer and have a play. Cheers
Brian Smith
Mark, Since you mentioned me, if you like, you can upload the file and I'll play around with it for a bit and shoot it back to you with some GI and nice materials.
Brian Smith
Actually, How about sending me a short critique of the book in exchange. I'm trying to improve it for the next go around.
MarkC-UK
Mr Smith, You are a legend. I appreciate your time and in return I would be more than willing to write a critique of your book. Do you have any objections with me sending you a pm to your personal address: brian.smith@3das.com ??
hdehondt
Good effort. You do need some more light (or was it your inention to recreate a rainy and sad day ). The plant is a bit "weird" as well. It's like it doesn't fit in the picture. Maybe Brian Smith can help you out with that (he actually replies to critique , much respect).
