creativeway
Hi all, the MR rookie strikes again. Question: Is it possible to have lights in a scene only to increase number of photons and not to emit light?? So that we can add photons to the zones were are only a few. diegofer_9
I am pretty sure you can. All you do is put a light and turn it off. That;s what I remember from a long time ago when I was using mental ray.
creativeway
You mean that by adding a light and turning it off it will bounce more photons into the scene? I tryed it but seems to make no diference :S perhaps I have a wrong parameter somewhere... ty
Justin Hunt
Use a photon map
creativeway
You mean, add new lighs just to save the photon map, then render it with single light? Alx
noi-pi
I thought Light was the Photon emitter? If you turn it off how will it emit Photons? You could lower it's (lights) intensities and increase photon size.
Quique
Ty, You can set the photon parameters of a light to 'manual' instead of automatic. In this manner, you can set a low intensity so that your light doesn't affect the scene through direct light, but then you can set the photon energy (brightness) to a really high level so that the photon does contribute to the scene. choco
something to try too .. : you can put your spot an adjust it : right click on it and turn off ambiant and specular emission, that should work and so only send photons and non lights values ....
