bricklyne
I would recommend that you upgrade to either ArchiCAD 8.1 or version 9 ( or even better version 10). Version 8 was full of tons and tons of bugs such as the GDl error you seem to be having which is why they quickly released version 8.1 shortly afterwards as a free upgrade. 1) for the Auto-refresh question, change the setting in your Section/Elevation line settings from 'Autorebuild' to 'Manual Rebuild' or 'Drawing' ( if you want to de-link it from the model, that is). That will make the sections and elevations only update when you tell them to, and not all the time. 2) I'm not sure what's giving you that GDL debug error per se, but like I said, it is probably an error related to the fact that it is version 8.0. You should try to get either version 8.1, 9.0 or 10, to avoid those kinds of errors.
