Ky Lane
Ok, Im probably opening myself up to a world of hurt here, but here goes anyway. You're probably all sick of looking at my posts, but Id like some comments about my first ever internal vray render. Unfortuantely, my resources were quite limited (the clients fittings and fixtures board really sucked, and the interior designers are useless). Anyway, look forward to hearing some tips to get better. Cheers.
hdehondt
I'm no technical expert so I'll leave the technical tips to others . My first feeling...cold (It's a bit dark too). I would let some real sunshine in and warm the place up.

neko
for an interior rendering, a few things stand out for me. firstly the granite texture on the kitchen island seems a little out of scale. the clean white interior is spoiled by the saturated colours of the patio tiles and the planting. the brown sofa is also out of place and a bit distracting. bit of blotchiness on the ceiling (radiosity solution ?) and very yellow light source on right side (early morning ?) good work though. nice avatar. burrard inlet background ? cheers
Ky Lane
Thanks for the comments. To be honest, Ive been looking at this thing for so long now, that Im missing even basic things. I think its time to accept that its my first rendering, and itll do for now. Ive added some more detail overnight, and got some better furniture models, which made a huge difference. The lighting still confuses me, and Ill wait till my new Dell arrives, as Im sure its speed will be more condusive to experimenting with lighting etc - but yes, that render is at the lowest radiosity rettings etc. The background is from the Northern Australian Coast at Bowen. MarkC-UK
I like it Ky; I love the feeling of space it has. I've seen the blotchy effect on the ceiling before; I'm sure that finer radiosity settings will get rid of them. By the way, the logo in the bottom right hand side looks great. Mind sharing how you created it??

As for the logo, its just pasted in photoshop at a "color burn" layer.

Ky Lane
Ok, well Ive been doing some reading, and alot of late nights...and I think I finally have lighting sorted....it makes sense now. I still lack alot of props to make the scene more "homely", but that will come in time. These are the 2 scenes thus far, proior to going at them in Photoshop..
