vir2lity
Does anyone know if there is a count limit using rpc? Rafael
John Dollus
I think he is asking if there is a limit to the number of RPC objects in the scene. I don't think there is but if there is a limit, you can create a grouping, save it out as a different file and Xref the scene back in. That will workaround any such limitation. Zortea
I think that if there´s a limit it´s just the computer´s limit

taufux
ya i agree with Zortea cos i have tried b4 to put a lot of rpc in a scene and try to render in a slower computer it come out all stupid error from the appplication, which is "memory erro"!! Zortea
In my case, Viz simply blow out without warning, then I have to remove those RPC, wait until Viz gets calm again and then I start to put the RPC one at a time until my computer crashes again... and so the life goes on... quizzy
I was able to put about 1400 RPC trees in a scene on a P3 1Ghz, with 512MB RAM. The trick is to optimize the RPC's. Some of them can be billboarded, jitter can be turned of, cast reflection can be turned off... etc.... Let me find you a very very old post that says something about your problem... http://www.cgarchitect.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=11;t=000013 there you go... vir2lity
thanks guys, i belive i am well over the 2k rpcs is the largest animation scale wise I ever done, it includes a 2 townhouse comunities, a section with all homes and the new commrcial section including Target, Home Depot, Shopper Warehouse, Staples, a bunch of restaurants. is a long one. basically more memory more ram and speedy machines are taking care of these beast, so I hope at least. d7man2000
does it (RPC) calculate all RPC objects every every frame, that's the worst thing, it takes too much time.

I dont think it does if you use the RPC proxy setup you can have RPC proxies everywhere and then populate when you want im sure i had a friend who got it to only populate what was needed with each render but im not 100% sure
