Frosty
Hi guys, I havent posted a WIP in a while (I've been busy with my thesis), but I would like some feedback on this image. I am working on some promotioinal literature and I am planning on using this image as the front. Its a student residence currently nder construction at a Canadian University. With the image I'm trying to hint at the realism possible without appearing mechanical. I am also trying to expose the methods of construction. Ernest Burden III
quick thoughts: blur the trees, major blur to the shadow that hits about 1/2 horizontally--light at that time of day is not strong enough for such a sharp shadow. I like how you used that shadow to allow for light spilling out of the interior--let more spill, and warm it up a bit. Also, get some light into the courtyard, coming from the hidden area--draw the viewer in. A good start!
supaslims
Frosty On the plus side, i think you've found a nice balance between the wire frame and render. And the modelling is great! But i think the rendering itself is bringing the great modelling down...just something about it is looking....'dirty'...it maybe the oranges and yellows are a bit saturated. I would also get rid of that sky, it looks way to flat and washed out...like an old acid eaten photo thats been in a photo album since the 70's On the links page here at CGA theres a link to some free textures which include sky and clouds with that dusk/dawn look you are going for, you might find something cleaner and clearer. What program/settings u using?
