jvlive
I think photoshop has always been backwards compatible, except you wont be able to see cs2-only effects/filters/fonts/etc on cs or 7. I always have this window pop-up whenever i move a file between cs and 7 but overall my image is fine.

DennisB
Is it possible to open a CS2 file in older version, like CS or 7??? Thanks Yes, provided you've told it to optimize for backwards compatibility. You do that in Preferences. Can't recall where at the moment, but probably in General or File Handling. There's a little checkbox for it. That will address the issue.
