RyanSpaulding
Does anyone know if one can still do a hidden line rendering in Form-Z RadioZity? I feel I may have made a mistake in the purchase for the company. I'm seeing RenderZone options in the normal version...but I don't see it anywhere in the RadioZity version. I thought it was supposed to INCLUDE more radiozity...not my only choice. All we got it for was the hidden line renderer =\ Why is it so hard to get a good hidden line renderer?!? erickdt
Which version are you running? I have Radiozity 5.5 and it has hidden line rendering. If you're not satisfied with that hidden line renderer I would recommend the one that comes with Vectorworks. I've found it to be very stable and accurate. They also have a dashed hidden line renderer in Vectorworks that works extremely well and the cost of the software is something like $700.
Crazy Homeless Guy
i have renderzone 6.0, and it is included in that package. it should be included in the radiozity version also, since as you said, radiozity is only an add on to the basic package. do you already have version 6, or are you waiting on it to arrive? Richard Rush
Every version of formZ that I know of (I've used every one since 2.8) has included hidden line rendering, including v. 6.0.1 (RadioZity) which I'm now running. Look in the Display Menu. The hidden line render generates vector lines. There is also Doodle render available in the Display Menu - a hidden line type render with effect options applied. I also believe that hidden line is included with the basic version of formZ that excludes RenderZone and RadioZity. You can also generate "line" drawing renders in RenderZone. That effect is applied per object where you can render just the lines or the lines in combination with the surfaces. The line thickness can be set per object. dragan jovic
Hello, do you know (if it is possible)? to export in .dxf format from Formz without having triangulate faces becouse everything that I try doesn`t work. I have FormZ 5.0 Thanks
erickdt
I'm not sure about any of that. I strongly recommend exporting an SAT file (as version 6.0 with smooth objects exported as smooth solids). This works best for me. If you're going straight into MAX I would export as a DWG thorugh the legacy translator.
Sketchrender
Hidden line rendering is supported as far as I know as far back 2.8. It is very memmory intensive . There is another way if you get info on your layer and turn on the outline , and it will render the object as the texture you have applied plus the lines you have made the object with. Personaly I still prefer to export the dwg version of the formz model to sketchup, and take all the hidden lines views from with in that. Just make sure you untick the triangulate option. phil
