steveblake
looks like a fantastic tool: http://mrblake.wordpress.com/2006/08/31/relief-mapping/ "This plugin adds a new procedural texture object implementing Relief Mapping to the 3D Studio Max off-line render. It allows a good quality and easy to use per-pixel displacement mapping solution without requiring high geometry tessellation. The plugin is compatible with the default Scan Line Render, V-Ray Render, Final Render and Brazil Render..." Hoping to try it out in the next day or so.. notamondayfan
looks interesting, but isnt this just the same as displacement modifiers?
WAcky
Just thought I'd bump this as there are new versions out and it's an awesome plugin. Been playing with it over the last hour. It seems that vlado created some sort plugin that converts proceedural maps to a normal map so this whole process will be pretty easy. (The new versions of the plugin include the mapping data and ulitlity plugin) http://maxplugins.de/max2010_64.php?search=&sort=Author
