brianzajac
Since Siggraph, we've been working with a great company called Immersive Media (http://www.immersivemedia.com/). Together we're taking a photorealistic view on the whole "virtual reality" idea. Imagine this: a client walks into a developer's sales area. Instead of the sales person showing a photorealistic rendering, they have them put on these glasses. Then, they are immersed in a 360 degree view of your rendering; taking up their whole peripheral vision. The included photo is the VR shot they converted (this is from our Barefoot Beach $11M residential home project - view at http://3das.com/gallery_animations.asp) & sent me to use with their viewer. I've got to say that this technology is a must-have for anyone out there wanting to push the envelop in 3D (and land BIG clients). For now, we're just using a still shot. However, we plan on taking this to a new level by animating it. So, it will feel like you are walking around the virtual environment. Take a look at their demos & you'll see what we mean. brianzajac
Dennis, Have you been working with just the VR stills or are you working with pre-recorded motion (like Immersive is doing)?
Ernest Burden III
I used to make those panos in Lightscape. They6 are great. Using an animated version would be much better. I'll check out the samples.
