Looks nice so far. But first forget about the sky, or is the UK collapsing ;) I would do something with the bumpmap of the wall, looks a bit to flat, and maybe change the diffuse settings.

And try to sperate the different facade elements with lighting, its hard to see what element is at what place. Or to avoid the extra work, place some nice table dancing girls inside the building, so noone looks at the details of the building :D

drastic times, drastic measures kid!!

bit of an homage to la tourette cript but bigger!

the couryard at the back is part of the scheme, very controled series of miniture fields.

i'll find a sketch ( hand drawn i guess you mean. how novel! lol!!)

heres the front elevation while i find and scan a sketch.

very nice Matt. I developed the same light cannon concept and incorporated it into a test model that will later on evolve into a more finished and complex form. its being used for my glass material test under the WIP section if you want to check it out.

Yeah nice start.

A few pickie points. I'm not sure of the material choice for the façade. Is it granite or concrete? IMHO concrete can look messy and cheap very quickly in London as pollution kills it and it stains like hell. Also London needs some warmth :)

Watch out for the mapping on the lhs wall in the top render. It looks like you are getting an increase in block size. Also is it a cladding or a structural material? Check the corners as somebody would be bound to latch onto that in a crit.

Would the internal effect of the light cannons be seen in any external views? Interested to see what effects you can get. Maybe even post one as a mini Unchallenge to test renderers again?

yeah, i got the wrong uwv values on the left hand side wall, but it gave a nice composition to the end facade as an elevation ( see below)

yes there are some internals to follow, with some rather abstract activities involved. the theme is for a benign interior animated by activity. follows on from walter benjamins "one way street" and a bit of baudalaire ad kafka, bit deep really!!

it is a clad concrete frame, the material is actually bathstone. bit like limestone. so no "messy concrete"

had some positive feedback so far, so i hope it does well!

sheep, i will be doing the light cannons from inside but at the momnewt i only have the lower gallery space with carved out reflective wall. will do a similar job.

this was a REALLY quick job, about 1hour so there are lots of rubbish bits that need correcting. i agree though, a nice challenge to render with those sort of roof lights

:angedead: :angedead: :angedead:

too much uploading, i'm knackered!!!

the basement gallery is where the last image was from. with sloping wall to the street

p.s. the old couple dancing is part of the narrative about photography, i have to chuck in weird people to animate the "beign" space. it's too long and dull to go on about!
