tcupp
Just got Maxwell and couldn't wait to try it out so I havn't read any of the users manual or done any tutorials yet. I am very impressed with its ease of use though... Anyway, here is my 1st render of a quick scene that I modeled in Max. Time: 60 min Sampling Level: 25 Seed: 0 So, as you can see...my question is how to get rid of the graininess. Any other recomendations are appreciated. V_Type
The more you increase the rendering time, the less you will have noise. For a short time grainy rendering, you can use Noise ninja (plug for photoshop) to reduce the noise.
AJLynn
The more complicated your materials, the more grainy. The more bounced light is required to light an area, the more grainy. The more render time, the less grainy. I think your render is actually pretty un-grainy, but it could use some direct sun and/or some camera exposure tweaking. Thiago de Andrade
I really love the grainy look, specially if it's not a commercial image. Very good photographers and movie makers take really grainy shots and it's part of the artistic language they're trying to achieve. It's almost a pro-grain manifest. Devin Johnston
Neat Image is the best noise reduction software I've seen, get the full version so you can save out Tiff's and you don't have any resolution limitations. Your exterior looks pretty normal for an image rendered for that long; if you did an interior to get to the same level your render time would probably be 5 or 10 times that long. Good first try!
