Tango
This is a 3D restoration of a house (ca.1900) that no longer exists. The geometry was carefully reproduced using the original designs done by hand by an italian architect.I am now in the previous stages of the project and I am planning to add the interiors with furniture if possible. Any suggestions or comments will be very appreciated. This was done using AUTOCAD + VIZ 4 on a PIII with 512 Mb Ram. http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=aux10small.jpg http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=aux11small.jpg
bigcahunak
No reall coments so far, only to say that modeling looks nice and clean. Just make sure you don't model more than you need - do you know what you want to achieve at the end? Interior, exterior, QTVR, animation... Are you going to end up close enough to see details? You could definitely get away with textures instead of some of the modeling you did here... good modeling nevertheless. Good luck.
Tango
Well, the goal is to reconstruct the whole building as close as possible (exterior and interiors)as the house was before the demolition. It seems that this will be a huge work... Sure I'm planning to add more textures instead of modeling but I dont want to go with stock textures and frankly I dont have much time left to create customs ones! By the way I don't know yet how to make the final presentation of this work; maybe stills.. Again thank you for your interest!!

Ricardo Eloy
Great modeling, buddy! Just don`t get too far with the modeling, 'cause you'll eventually find it very demanding. I klnow that sometimes we just don`t want to stop modeling, but everything has a price. About the model itself, I'd say that it screams for some radiosity in the end. I'm sure you'll create a superb piece in the end! Good job! [] Rick
Tango
Well Thanks you all for the advices. Last weekend I worked a little more on this project. I think the modeling of the main Facade is already done. I will start working on the materials now. Don't pay attention to materials on the walkway, the street and the windows, they're not ready!!! Well check this again and let me know how is going. In this 2 renderings I have explored Vray (for the first time) so any comments welcome. :angecool:
