malts
Where should I start rendering in vray? I mean, should I set lights before texturing, or textures first and then lights? And when is the right time to save irradiance map? Tnx
atp-design
i believe that it's better to setup lights at first. but you can do all materials and then check the material override in rendering parameteres and replace all material in the scene with a light gray material ,in this condition you can adjust the light intesity and rendering parametres without waste time. and the finally active all materials and change color clamping for global brightness of image. malts
Thanks a lot Ali T. But when should I use irradiance map? After all materials and lights are in desired condition? Then I render irradiance map (without reflections) half size of my final render. Is that correct?
atp-design
I prefer to render irradiance map in the same size of output ,because vray use interpolation to determine illumination of each pixel so if you render irradiance map in the half size you will miss half number of samples.but in high resolution images usuauly this trick is helpfull to reduce time of rendering.in this case increase the number of interp-samples to avoide spots on the final render.
