Getting up to speed

Greetings all

First I would like to say thank you to those who have put this forum together and maintain it. Additionally to all, whose participation makes it work, jobs well done.

I am new to this forum or any for that matter. This is my first posted rendering.

The model is the second that I have done in 3D, and the first in viz4. It is a 1360 sf tract house designed for the purpose of learning digital modeling and rendering. The intent is to produce an image that has a Saturday morning mood. The Eames furniture comes from the HMI web site, the rest is mine. I hope that Jeff and Nisus are not offended by the bas relief, it is temporary. Areas seen through the doors and windows have yet to be addressesed although they should not be considered out of bounds for discussion.

Just for fun the following is an excerpt from ABSOLUTE ARCHITECTURE

“…Architecture ruthlessly employs the strongest means at its disposal at any given moment. Machines have taken control of it and human beings are now merely tolerated in its domain.” Walter Prichler 1962

With that said I hope the critters are hungry. DIG IN!

Hi Lee,

Your image looks like I forgot to put on my glasses... The lighting looks great for now. Maybe add somthing in the lower right corner... some kind of attribute...

Waiting for an update...

Morning Nisus

You are right it is blurry as hell. I do not have a clue as to why. I did a set of experiments with the antialiasing filters and this is a great improvment! (Mitchell-Netravali at .33 and .33)

As for the right corner I agree that it needs something. I was thinking of something a little more substantial

hey lee, thanks for your reply, forst of all.

now to tour image, if it is really your second 3d model ever, congrats man, mi first works never get as good as this one, i dont really understand the blur look of the render, im not really sire of what can be producing that effect.

i agree with nisus that the lighting is really good and your should work a little more with the kitchen furniture to add more realism and make the image looks better.

watch out the scale of your furniture and pay more attention to details, try something with a planter in the corner, just play a little more with the composition

by the way is it your face in the picture???

keep the good work.

Morning guys

Don't worry about the furniture. I am trying to do a great drawing! The subject is not a high priority. I hope someday I will be commisioned to render an ugly bldg, and be able to make it look fantastic. I know I am not half the interior decorator you are. I would prefer if we could deal with the cg blunders. Like what is the cause of the blurring. Why the lighting is unrealistic, and all the other things that you can see. My eyes are not yet trained to look at photoreal images, they all look great to me. Miguelafi, yes this is my second model, it has taken me over two months to get to this point. Learn to do it well and speed will follow. fyi I am a pen and ink guy, I took an autocad class to learn 2d. The class turned out to be 3d, I was realy out of my league! As for the image on the wall, that is Jeff Mottle and Nisus. you can just see Nisus peaking around the corner in the mirror.

Thank you for your insights I will take another look at the furniture and clutter.
