jtiscareno
I have three non related max questions so any help in all or some is good: 1. Is there a way to "purge" a max file like in autocad? 2. I am stuck in animating the slice plan in the slice modifier using the manual set key method, I have been able to animate using the auto key. I did a search and followed the simple the simple directions to apply modifier, got to slice plan, tun set key, move plan to bottom, set key, move plan to top, set key and bingo...but after this when I play the animation it does NOT move the plan up, only if I use auto key can I animate the plan...am I doing something worng, missing a setting??? 3. I can not get the "ghost" effect in the script for rpc silhouette from http://www.3idee.nl/3d/html/layout.php to work anymore to make the rpc have a solid color, I can make them transparent since we moved to max8 and vray 1.47, is it the script or something else. Thanks for all the help in advance
frank1331
I can only help with the first question. You can type gc() and it will clean things up. You wont be able to see what it is cleaning like autocad, just have to trust it.

jtiscareno
Thanks brian for the clear up, typed gc() in the corner but didn't seem to do much... jtiscareno
Hey guys any tips on the slice modifier animation???? Thanks
only3d
dont know about the RPC but for the slice animation u have to activate the 'key filters' to the right of the 'set key' button, so either u activate the appropriate one or just activate all of'em. thats the difference between 'set' and 'auto' which decides on its own good luck
Matt Clementson
1. Is there a way to "purge" a max file like in autocad? The two are not analogous. Max doesn't keep definitions of layers/linestyles/blocks like AutoCAD does. Objects that are delete are deleted and are not kept in the file. The given gc() will clear anything temporary in memory but all temporary objects are not saved to the file. So you don't need to 'purge' a MAX file like you do an AutoCAD one.
