Jeff Mottle
The Brians are back! Those of you who are frequent visitors to our forums will know Brian Smith and Brian Zajac from 3DAS. Judges for this year's Architectural 3D Awards, Authors of the recent title: Foundation 3ds Max 8 Architectural Visualization, and active members of the CGA forums, they have just launched a new series of tutorials, tip and tricks geared specifically towards Architectural Visualization. CGarchitect is proud to have partnered with 3DAS to host this new series that will run for the next 26 weeks. Every Friday we will be publishing a new tutorial for you to enjoy. Don't be fooled, these will not be the average tutorials and production tips. They are professionally edited feature length articles that at its conclusion will be one of the industry's single best collection of industry secrets. Consider each a chapter in 'the' book of architectural visualization. The first in the series is entitled "Creating Site Plans", a two part series. The first PDF is 25 pages long and filled with images and examples. There are also accompanying DWG and MAX files as well! I'd like to personally thank both Brian's for making this happen, as this truly will be a gold mine for everyone in our industry. Thank You! So with all that said...Enjoy! http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/VI/default.asp

Jeff Mottle
Nice! Will there be a thread associated with each installment to discuss the material presented? Soon. I'm waiting for one of the plugins I am using to come out of the Release Candidate stage. Once that happens I can upgrade the forums which will allow all news items on CGA to be commented upon in the forums as soon as they are published. alias_marks
Brian, Brian, This is a great help and your time and effort is much appreciated. I've been in the business for about a year now doing a lot of these things every day. It's always great to see a well infomed, carefully put together information packet like this. I hope it continues well. How bout an RSS feed on the page so us web 2.0'ers can keep up to date on when new files are added? Thanks again for your efforts to share with the community. Brian Smith
Thanks for the comments. Although we've gone through the steps to proof them for errors, it's not guaranteed there won't be a typo somewhere, especially when proofing your own work. If any error is found, please let us know so we can fix right away.

Ta. Neil Woodhouse Except for the fact that there are 80,000 vray tip/tutorial pages on proxies online and virtually none for Onyx.
Neil Woodhouse
Ouch, Unfortunately i don't rate Onyx Trees, they look too much like 'cartoons' to me. I prefer Evermotion, or Speedtree.
