Noise
Hi I have a drawing in from a client and it looks fine in plan view but, when it is viewed in axo or elevation - the lines are all over the place in the Z coordinate. Is there a way to bring them all back to 0 in one go ? I have tried a lisp routine that is meant to do this but it won't work. thanks N
slinley
If you assign the Text in the attached file to a custom button and then run it that should bring all your points back down to 0. Stu

Noise
Thanks I don't want to sound crap but, how do I create a new button ? Its been a while since using acad regularly. thanks n
Noise
When I type flatten into the command panel, it doesn't recognise it.
Thiago de Andrade
In older Acad versions "flatten" is a express tools feature, so you'll have to install it. But, does flatten work for lines with differente Z coordinates? I only acomplished to use it to lower coplanar lines, all of them with the same z coordinate. jackb602
I don't know if this works in Autocad, but in FormZ I select all the lines and scale them 1,1,.00000001 so they are effectively flattened along the Z-axis.
slinley
Creating a button depends on what version of Autocad you are using as Post 2005 its a very different setup to previous versions. If you are using 06/07 then type in CUI, then on the bottom left section of the interface it says Command List. Click on the flyout and select custom commands and then new. You can rename your button, paste the text into the Macro slot and Apply. You can then drag this from your list on on the bottom left into one of your toolbars at the top left. Hope thats not too complicated and i'm afraid i can't quite remember how to do it in 2005 or before.
Noise
I am running acad 2002 ! Insane, we need to upgrade but I am sure it should be possible to sort this problem with this version. thanks n
slinley
Okay, think this should do it. Go to Tools > Customize > Toolbars > Commands > user defined(Bottom left) Select a new button in the right hand area(should only be a few) and drag it onto your screen. If you then click on it you should get the preoperties of it and then just rename and paste in the macro. Ok that and then you should be able to use it. Hope it does it this time.
