IceAged
Are all your pc's running XP? A good start would be to make sure each pc is set up in the same way as the others, (same opperating systems where possible, latest service packs, identical network settings, etc). Also make sure that Max is updated with SP3 on each pc, and that you are running the latest version of backburner on all of them. Another thing worth checking is firewall settings - make sure your firewalls are set to allow communication between the backburner server and manager. Alternatively you can just disable them if this is feasable. I can't give you a specific answer to your problem, but i run a render network with about 20 pc's, and most of the problems that come up are caused by unusual settings on individual pc's. Try narrowing down the problem by rendering with just one other pc, and slowly add the others until you identify the problem computers.
