hi!!!

this may be simple for other artists... but how can you be good in planning and executing good cinematography in your projects? is there some online resource that someone can direct me to? or some tips and tricks one might impart?

i did some projects for some clients who gave me all the freedom to do evrything on my own, they didnt have a storyboard nor gave any suggestions on how they wanted the project to "look"... so i did it my way and they were pleased with the outcome... but somehow im not satisfied with the "creative composition" of my project...

i dont have any background in cinematography nor mass media... :) im just an architect aspiring to be my own George Lucas!!! lol.

but seriously... any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance!!!

Sorry Sparrow, join the club...nobody can be good at everything, cinematography is kinda out of the realm of Arch Viz, Aesthetics is one thing and cinematography is a whole other thing...You should probably mimic some combinations of cinematography that you admire and sort of develope your own style, and maybe hang out in some cinematography forums...

There is somewhere on the web....a site where a pro cinematographer sells DVD's and actually uses CG to block scenes for movies. Can't remember his name or the site...maybe someone, (Chris?), knows who I'm talking about. Awsome resource, not cheap, but well worth every penny. If I can find the link or remember the name I'll post it.

Google "Blocking the Scene", good start to get right into the meat of the issue and figure out where to go next.

thanks Manta and WDA.

hehe i guess you guys are right about "we cant be good at everything" :) i'll try to find some sites and post it here as well. i'm really intrested in refining my craft, Aesthetics aside and more into capturing the good aesthetic creations that we produce... i think these two aspects are very important in ARCHviz (my opinion only)... for what good is a great rendering when we cant instill emotional impact to the viewer without good cinematography. :)

thanks again guys!!!

i think that's the site. i'll try to check it out a lil bit first and figure out if its worth buying. :) well $500 is a little price to pay than actually attending seminars on a film school... but that's just me, what do you guys think?

thanks for the link!
