Alison K. Rathbun
When I started out as a Graphic Artist several years ago I used to attend meetings for couple professional organizations in my general field. I had some success in finding a job that way. At the very least I got to know a lot of people in my industry. Now I am finishing up on a degree in Architectural Graphics and I am looking for professional organizations that support ArchVis. The only national organization I know of is Siggraph but the local chapter in Seattle has been shut down for many years now. What other organizations are there that I should look into? Any local to the greater Seattle area? Thanks, -Alison
TheAllusionisst
I know CG society members have been working on making the local chapter more active and I think there are some 'Concept Artist' members in the mix. I don't know of any arch viz organizations that have a local chapter (If you find one, I wouldn't mind hearing about it). Their is also the local AIA and Seattle Architectural Foundation that has a show once a year for models and arch viz work. Since I am from Seattle I thought I would chime in and hey I mind find out about something I was unaware of
Ernest Burden III
There's always the ASAI http://www.asai.org
Brian Cassil
ASAI and SAI are foundations for arch viz but don't have any local chapters that I'm aware of. Here in the Salt Lake area a few of us have gotten together to create what we call the Salt Lake Graphics society. Although those of us who plan the events are all in arch viz we try to keep it as open as possible. I guess what I'm getting at is if you see a need and don't see it being fullfilled... start something yourself.
