Ken Walton
Alright - I'm getting slightly frustrated and can't determine the solution. When I set the primary and secondary GI multipliers to a setting that gives me reasonable results, my ceiling explodes with bounced light (check first image). When the multipliers are toned down to get the ceiling right, the room isn't nearly as bright as it should be. Does anyone have any advice on how to find this medium? Maybe I'm focusing on the wrong settings here - don't know. http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=study3.jpg http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=study3_2.jpg PS - the wall color in the second image is just a tad (10 HSB Brightness units) darker than the first, but the results were basically the same before the change. mtutaj
How many bounces are you allowing? for interiors it should be around 3 or 4 and 2 for exteriors. more bounces will bounce more light around in your scene.. if you can post a screen shot of your settings... There is a good tutorial posted on the old Finalrender forum.. Let me find the link here is one p://www.kicrea.com/articles/plugins/fR_Stage1/tuts/special_enlighten/ Enlighten_03_us.php this one is good also http://www.geocities.com/has_sin/tutorial/ tutorial.zip Hope those help.. They helped me quite a bit when I got started.. Mike
Ken Walton
Thanks - I'll check it out on Monday. My bounces are set to 7 - my mult is 2.5, sec mult: 2.25. Anyway I tweaked the last image in Photoshop (curves) and got this: http://www.cgarchitect.com/forum/filepush.asp?file=study3_3.jpg I'm rendering a high-res anti-aliased image right now with slightly different settings. I'll see how that comes out. I still have to add some clutter and a background, but any other suggestions would help. Ken Walton
