aflack
When I render an image on screen, how do I keep that image in the render window so that next time I render a region it renders over the top of the old image and I don't loose everything around it? Thanks
Bugga_Guy
don't close your render window... by closing the render window you are resreshing it. butwhy dont you just save the 2 images and composite in photoshop?
aflack
Thats the thing I never close it just move it down to a corner of my screen. Sometimes when i hit render on certain models the whole window goes black where as when i am doing other images the original image always stays as a background. I could do it in photoshop but in most cases I just render region over the existing image and I want to know why this doesn't happen all the time? IceAged
What render engine are you using? When using scanline the image will dissapear if you start zooming in and out with the mouse wheel during rendering, whearas if you are using mental ray the image will remain on the screen, regardless of zooming. You can click the 'clone' button above the image if you want to make a backup in max... but usually i compare images in photoshop...

Koper
everytime you change your resolution of the rendering it resets the window and i don't think there is a way of keeping it except if you clone your window before the next render
