erickdt
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for PC remote access programs (like PCAnywhere). I've been researching these types of programs so I can work on my work computer from home while still utilizing the full power of my work machine. The most promising one I've come accross so far has be "LogMeIn" (https://secure.logmein.com/go.asp?page=home ). I used it last night and it seems to work really well and it only costs $69.99 for a years subscription. Anyway... any suggestions or other words of wisdom would be appreciated. BrianKitts
we use cisco's VPN for a connection with the servers @ work. Works like a charm to establish a connection, and then you can map drives to servers to work at home (if you have the right software it makes it alot easier to work at home) or you can use the remote desktop feature in winXP to get a virtual desktop of your work computer. But if you use a remote desktop you're gonna have a slight lag in the screen refresh unless you pay for a super internet pipe on both ends, you'll be transferring images rather than just data that way, as with any prog of this type) it's simple flawless and has never caused a problem for me. http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/secursw/ps2308/index.html I think if you register with cisco it's actually a free download. http://clk.about.com/?zi=1/XJ&sdn=compnetworking&zu=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cisco.com%2Fpcgi-bin%2Ftablebuild.pl%3Ftopic%3D270636499

itoocson
Our IT guy uses logmein too. It is a lifesaver because one time someone else used my workstation and forgot to turn it off! Fortunately, our computers use logmein and the IT guy was able to turn it off from his pc at home
