martin walker
Guys, anyone help me on this. Is there a way of creating a procedural texture as show in the attachment. If not anyone have a nice hi - res texture I can crib ...looked high and low on the web cant see anything thanks in advance !
JamesTaylor
i wondered this also..... how about working with a blend type material, you could then just create a hi res alpha channel to define the layout of the blocks etc and use procedural textures underneath to create the material colours / textures. its not quite 100% procedural, but from a quick idea i think there is good potential???? Probably need a no. of layers to achieve a hi quality final material
martin walker
Thanks James, Ive sort of "given up" on the procedural and just modelled it using single blocks face mapped to individual polys with a bit of bump not very eloquent...but it seems to do the job
JamesTaylor
well there always that way of doing it too!! it can quite often just be quicker to model something... bit of a pain tho if its something you'll have to do time and time again
