Problem making a hole in the Wall (Box)

Hi all

 

I have some pictures here to show an OLD problem that I'm facing for a long time...I guess this is something basic but I don't know how to solve it....

 

I use Quick slice to make a hole in the wall (which actually is a box) to put a door in there...but as you can see in picture 4, the box is empty and there are missing those faces in the side of the hole represented by red lines...picture 5 shows a view from the other side of the box....there is no hole....

 

Any help of how to manage this problem?? I've created a house with boxes and I need to make some holes to put doors and windows....they must be seen from exterior and interior view....

hmm create a box .. increase the segments ... boolean a box for the door.. or create a box ... edit poly ... and delete the faces meant to be the door

If you're just quick slicing and deleting faces you need to delete the opposite face as well so you have a through hole..and bridge/cap the edges to close the jamb/header.I think Booleans will do this automatically if you select cap ends in the modifier rollout

I also have only ever used Booleans to create holes for windows and the aec extension for doors. Never had any trouble.

 

The new probooleans are even better

Found a tutorial about booleans and got the problem solved!
