seamus
I have changed the wait to render time in backburner to 3000 minutes however the renders timeout at the default time of 600 minutes. I have tried this multiple times - restarting max and the machine etc. but the renders still timeout at 600 minutes. I am strip rendering over 8 machines. david.jones
It seems this is a common problem! There are several past threads where this has been discussed before. I was just thinking that one way around the problem would be to make your strips smaller, if the strip was over 50% complete when it timed out the doubling on trebling the number of strips would solve this. Also, reduce the strip overlap, as the standard overlap can mean that on small strips, a large amount of the strip is already contained in the previous one. Hope this helps. seamus
Thanks for the reply. I have also noticed that there seems to be a limit to the number sof strips I can make. I spreading it out over 10 machines - if I specify for example 40 strips it defaults to 14. Is there better net rerdering software available? david.jones
i really don't know of alternative software, but this is a problem specific to backburner version 3. Could you possibly install backburner 2?? This is currently an unresolved issue with version 3, as you can see from this thread on auodesk site, http://discussion.autodesk.com/thread.jspa?threadID=498962
seamus
Thanks for that David. One would have hoped that autodesk would have sorted something as basic as that out.
