Ernest Burden III
Here it is Ernest... I'll have a look. But while you were doing that, I decided to prepare my file for you. Open this up and drop an animated file into the lum. channel, but why not save my QT from yesterday and use that, its already set to match the 120 frames of this example. Ernest Burden III
cheers ernest... your a gentleman Say's who? Anyway, I set that file up for C4D's engine. Your file uses FinalRender. I forgot about that. I hit renderviewport and got the little bucket running around. Haven't seen him for quite a while. I tried a number of things to get fr2 to render the animated version of my QT movie, no luck yet. I tried making a fr2 material (not a regular C4D mat) and that didn't change much, but did crash Cinema. Ah, yes, I remember fr2... There is no obvious setting in the fr2 panels under 'effects', so it will take a bit more investigating.

ZFact
[/url] Ernest; Check this out you might make more sense of it than me. Got it over at FR2 forum. Hi All, I have created AR sky - FR Sky synchronization set and I would like to share. You can download from here: http://web.t-online.hu/planinform2/_download/FxSunSystemFR.zip 1. automatically switch on/off effects and autolight in render panel. 2. visible custom FR sun by SunSphere 3. baking set for FR enviroment map inside 4. compass object for Sky and FR 5. correcting Sun coordinates, because Sky object use camera origin to set the Sun origin, therefore using arealight with areashadow gives differend shadow than Sky casts Usage: Unzip and save to Cinema4D\library\object folder 0. add object to scene 1.Open Xpresso tag in Sky object 2.Add Finalrender engine to effect panel 3.Drag&drop finalrender-Stage 2 from effect panel to finalrender-Stage 2 node -> then all 'Undefinied' port will get the actual name 4.Set compass objet to Xpresso link and rotate compass Z direction to 5.North -> this allows to set North in Sky and FR all at once. 6.Set Sky location and date/Time parameters 7.Bake Sky map for FR enviroment, assign to FR enviroment slot 8.Switch Xpresso 'Render Setup' parameter to any FR type then you can easily switch between c4d and FR rendering engine Issues: When you use FRsun the Sky DS TimeZone and Fr Daylight saving time not working properly. I get nearly correct Sun position compare to Sky object when I use negative value on FR 'Anim Time Offset' parameter. If anybody has more time just do it. I could imagine the one of the other SP will content such kind of automatisation to AR Sky object Regards, Zoltan edit: one more issue: if you animate Sky 'Date/Time' parameter and render frame intreval, not a single frame the FR 'Date/Time' parameters will not change. I dont know why, maybe because the Sky priority changed to Generators for using compass rotate values. If Sky priority change to other type and you rotate the SKy object the Sun position always recalculate to +Z - North direction. Im not an Xpresso specialist, maybe anybody know the answer. Ernest Burden III
Check this out you might make more sense of it than me. Got it over at FR2 forum. I was aware of that, though I didn't retrieve the files yet. I was instead hoping that the issue would be FIXED with SP2. You must have seen then that I posted a question there at the Cebas forum about your animated textures. We'll see what anyone has to say.

Im starting to think am i going to cause myself alot of hassle by going down the FR2 route to animate. Put aside the speed of FR2.. perhaps im better of running with AR 2.5 and going down the render farm route What do you guys think? If i can get final render to work i think i can end up with a nicer animation but i tried a test render last night with no landscaping or entourage and it crashed... How does the render farm work? Do you have to setup network rendering? And what if you get artifacts? Is there any settings which are good to reduce the chances of artifacts in AR2.5? Put aside the speed of FR2.. perhaps im better of running with AR 2.5 and going down the render farm route I admire your 'Lord's prayer' approach. Well, the answer is that fr2 cannot render an animated texture. Un-f*ing believable. OK, that won't work. But doing GI aniomation in AR isn't a picnic. You are going to have to give us some more specifics about your project and what you are trying to do with your animation so that we can advise you further. Welcome to the minefield. Watch where you step.
ZFact
Shocking.... its such a good piece of software to, if only they would tweak it now and resolve the issues. It has the potential to be one of the best, and value for money. I'll post my second by second program for the animation later on today. I have decided to go down the fakeosity route to render the animation external part and use FR2 with GI to render the interior wallkthru part. Then edit them together using after effects. I started learning AE at the weekend past and im impressed with my progress so far. Any guidelines for good fakeosity would be most welcome.
