Hey guys, I'm fixing up a marina renndering I did. Looking for CC. There's many issues I see...I'll be doing something different with the land area once I get the ocean and all that looking nice. I'm going to build docks for the yachts yet.

Would coral be a nice touch perhaps? Any other ideas? More boats? Less?

Coral would be a nice touch. You could add more boats. Maybe a few outside of the Marina. Other than the blue of the ocean, The image is lacking color. I know you probably want to focus on the Marina and not the surroundings. All that sand looking material on the right: Could u possible add some grass over there? And one last thing. Maybe changing the buildings to a different color.

Thanks for the early cc...appreciated.

bully: I'll add more boats and do something to add variety in them too. Also, the sand material is concrete and the buildings are temporary. I'm actually going to be adding a bunch more life in there...trees, vegetation, more colorful buildings, ect. That'll be in one of my next versions.

BKittsArc: Hmn, well, I may try and take the one surfacing out or submerge him more...maybe darken the texture so it just looks like a large mass underwater...not so detailed. I like the extra of having a whale.

Keep em coming! Thanks guys.

very nice start man,,I'm on the line here with the whales. Seems like a nice touch on the other hand kinda distracts me forom the scene..

Your lighting is ok and i think being that this image is in its' early stages i'll wait till you get some color and textures in...good luck man:cool:

some containers stored on the docks will be a nice touch IMO..

This depends on if the company doing the marina is laying a dark sediment on the sea floor. I too asked this by seeing reference images but this is in the barbados so they are trying to keep the sea floor lighter.

Thanks for the replies guys. Next version should be coming a bit soon. I'm thinking about spending a LOT of time on this one.

I really like the water. The boats are a bit uniform but it's the whale and dolphins that get all my attention. It looks like a wildlife shot rather than a visualisation.

The whale's shadow(?) is a bit distracting too.

LOL. Yeah, I'm hearing people from renderosity also saying that could be a whale shadow. It is, in fact, another whale submerged. I'm going to do that to the 1st one and put them closer together. Dolphins may go...but they look nice in large format.

I plan on modelling a bunch of coral and doing a lot of other touches.

The boats I'll have to edit some textures in photoshop and reload them in Vue. I bought the Turbosquid yacht bundle and everything had the same textures. For the client, I had to get the image out. For me though, I do not.

I also have to learn how to make convincing boat wakes in Vue/Photoshop and maybe I can find 3d people in appropriate beach/barbados wear. Poser perhaps?
